Students

This page is for students to get information about student exchange as well as Erasmus student mobility opportunities at the university level. Student Exchange can be in many different forms. Usually, when the term semester exchange is used, it is used to mean semester mobility where the student will go to another university in another country to take courses in lieu of the courses that he or she would have taken at their home university in their home country. Of course, the total credits to be gained will have to match the requirements of the home university as well as the host university and also there should be a broad match between the courses of each program so that the student can use these transferred credits toward his or her graduation.

In addition, the type of course credits will need to be known in advance. In Europe, ECTS or the European Credit Transfer System is used and usually, 1 US Credit from a US University will equal 2 ECTS credits in a European University. You can read more about credit transfer in our Blog at this article here:

What is an ECTS Credit and How Do I Convert from ECTS Credits?

Student Exchange can be at the undergraduate level as well as at the postgraduate level. Going for a double degree or a dual degree may also be an option for international exchange students as it will allow the student to receive 2 different degrees from two different institutions as part of the student mobility. However, universities must have an MoU between them. You can read more about it here:

In order to start your student exchange journey, you will first need to contact your International Office at your Home University to see their international partners available. You can submit your application to your International office. In some cases, it may be possible to apply directly to the university that you want to enroll as an exchange student. This post below may help you to prepare your application as an exchange student to different opportunities.
